Teachers & School Divisions

The Dance Effect has been highly successful in connecting multiple teachers within a school division to dance education. Teachers can register independently or as a division, collaborating with fellow professionals to enhance their professional toolkit. Regardless of the path you choose, you will gain a deep understanding of the importance of dance education in today’s world and the vital role classroom teachers play in connecting students to dance.

Professional Development (PD) sessions are organized by grade levels (PreK-K, 1-2, 3-4, 5-6, and 7-8), offering both group PD days and individual consultancy options. Sessions are active, featuring presentations, group discussions, and participation elements throughout the day. Along with the knowledge gained throughout the PD experience, all teachers will receive a comprehensive teacher’s packet and access to the Dance Effect community of educators passionate about sharing and collaboration. Get ready to share, learn, and dance together!

"I loved that there was actual active participation that required us to get up and learn the steps- making the experience more interactive and giving us real ideas that we could take away and apply to our own classes. It also fostered confidence in our own dance ability to learn steps and how we can create dance "sentences". I loved that we were able to take the overall experiences and use the format to incorporate dance into our own unit planning. It started out slowly and then scaffolded when we began to feel more confident in our abilities. This gave us the feeling of how students will work through the process, but also gave us a good format for lessons, units, etc."
